* Okay, allow me to warn you.  The information below is not going to be exactly that, information.  I am going to write a daily journal throughout my pregnancy.  I am not going to sugar coat anything.  I am not Donna Read, nor do I plan on pretending to be her.  There will be gross stuff.  If you don't want to hear about vomit and blood-you best move on to the next google option. When I first thought I could have been pregnant, I started a mad search for anything on pregnancy.  I ran across a lady's blog ( I'll see if she'll mind me adding her link) that was very helpful to me.  It made me feel normal.  I hope to do the same for other people.  Even if something bad happens, it will be posted.  So here goes nothing.*

The visit to the dreaded GYN.

01/16/06-Jean and I went to see my GYN today (Monday).  We had to be in serious stealth mode as the doctor is part of the clinic where I work, and Jean used to work.  We went in to the exam room and talked with Dr.C.  We told him we were interested in starting a family-after all we would soon be getting a house and Jean would be working.  It does take a full year to get pregnant most of the time, ya know.  Dr. C was very supportive and advised me to take a multi vitamin with extra folic acid.  We discussed mine and Jean's medical history and our cat.  I can't take out the litter box now.  Cats carry a disease called Toxoplasmosis that hurt an unborn baby.  I've read that if you've had a cat before, chances are pretty good you've had it-you just thought it was the flu. We also discussed my working as a nurse in Internal Medicine-which is covered with sick people.  He decided to do some blood work on me.  Anyways, we left his office happy, hit the lab, and went home.  Nobody at work suspected a thing....or so I thought.
